Beware the Day of the Gods

Beware the gods: Days of Judgement are in their thoughts.

The biggest gods are billionaires: Their gifts will make a way for them. They open doors that no man can shut, and they close doors that no man can open. They create or destroy the world as we know it.

They kill and they give life, they feed the poor or not, as it pleases them. Do not eat  the dainties, the foods of the gods, for they are laced with poisons.

The gods execute judgement on the nations, slaying the mighty ones and smashing the children and wives in their homes, in their schools, in their hospitals or in the fields.

They make the laws and then demand that we obey and worship them with banners, pledges and of course with our taxes. Defy them and if you live, flee to an Ecuadorian embassy.

They create our religious beliefs real time, and delete other beliefs, bombing them out of existence. The forgive some, and they condemn others, seemingly arbitrarily..

They give men the gift of fire and with it they warm us or they burn us. They swoop from the air like demons, spreading death in their wake.

We dare not displease them.

They own the cattle on a thousand hills but they still want the Grande Canyon too. They collude to destroy the land. The earth trembles beneath their feet. The world reels with floods and fires, with tornadoes, earth quakes and tornadoes. They spin the wind and the rain out of control: The climate changes at their command. Their breath melts the polar caps.

Beware the Day of the Gods.

I love all child refugees but … where will the money come from? Part III

Quote from a Facebook friend:

“Much as my heart breaks for the children who want to come here because circumstances are better … circumstances will not be better here if we allow more people to live here than we can afford to support.”

So says one of my Facebook friends.

Climate change versus American business: An armchair analysis

My armchair analysis and predictions: Climate change will be impossible to deny, especially if governments don't take actions to address it soon. A lot of people may be hurt or killed, whether in natural events or in human conflicts. Those living in regions that are less affected by climate extremes will be asked to foot the bills, so it is going to hit everyone but especially those who doe not have tremendous power or leverage over Congress and the military. Below are three scenarios of how I think things might go down. (Let me know what you think will happen.)
