Beware the Day of the Gods

Beware the gods: Days of Judgement are in their thoughts.

The biggest gods are billionaires: Their gifts will make a way for them. They open doors that no man can shut, and they close doors that no man can open. They create or destroy the world as we know it.

They kill and they give life, they feed the poor or not, as it pleases them. Do not eat  the dainties, the foods of the gods, for they are laced with poisons.

The gods execute judgement on the nations, slaying the mighty ones and smashing the children and wives in their homes, in their schools, in their hospitals or in the fields.

They make the laws and then demand that we obey and worship them with banners, pledges and of course with our taxes. Defy them and if you live, flee to an Ecuadorian embassy.

They create our religious beliefs real time, and delete other beliefs, bombing them out of existence. The forgive some, and they condemn others, seemingly arbitrarily..

They give men the gift of fire and with it they warm us or they burn us. They swoop from the air like demons, spreading death in their wake.

We dare not displease them.

They own the cattle on a thousand hills but they still want the Grande Canyon too. They collude to destroy the land. The earth trembles beneath their feet. The world reels with floods and fires, with tornadoes, earth quakes and tornadoes. They spin the wind and the rain out of control: The climate changes at their command. Their breath melts the polar caps.

Beware the Day of the Gods.

VENEZUELA'S DEMISE: INEVITABLE COLLAPSE OF SOCIALISM, CAPITALIST COUP, OR SOMETHING ELSE?

DRAFT, WRITING IN PROGRESS, OPINION
Was the demise of Venezuela's government the inevitable result of socialism, the collapse of oil prices, a coup, or something else?

We are being told all the time that the nation's collapse is because socialism is bad  (very bad), and that capitalism is good (very good) and will fix it.. I don't believe it.

Local Group organizing: meeting Friday to discuss Crisis Center for the mentally ill and others.

A local group of concerned citizens is organizing to push for a regional, Coordinated Crisis Response Center in Benton and Franklin Counties.  The workshop will be held Friday morning (June 8, 2018) at Claude Oliver’s office in the Tri-Cities Realty Group, 1919 N. 20th Avenue, Pasco, Washington.
